upgrade of win95

    Can I upgrade win95 os by using win98 OEM version??
    Please Advise. Thanks for advance.

    You could by booting with a startup floppy, type in the following command at the prompt, then install 98.
    ren c:\windows\win.com win.old
    Although I would recommend a format and a clean install of 98. IF this is the original 98, you will need the 98 UPDATE for it, to get it Y2K compliant, not to be confused with the 98SE UPGRADE version.
    If you are doing this to get USB support, you will be better off with the 98SE Upgrade version. The Upgrade version will do a full install, just need the 95 CD/floppies or Win 3.1 floppies for proof of a previous version.
    If you are doing this because some software/hardware needs 98SE, the original 98 will not do.
    Need a Bootdisk for dos CD Rom support? Get the one for 98SE OEM.
