    Hi,
We recently updated from IE and OE 5.0 to IE and OE 5.5.
After updating, we ended up with a "Imported Bookmarks" folder in our Favorites list. Many of the favorites, if not all, listed in this folder are the same as I have listed individually in my Favorites list.
Does anyone know why this happened?

I saved a copy of the Favorites Folder on a CD-RW before upgrading but I can't seem to restore it.
What is the proper procedure for restoring the Favorites Folder from IE 5. to IE 5.5. This would probably get rid of the "Imported Bookmarks" Folder.

I had the same situation when I switched from Netscape Navigator Gold 3 to IE 5. The Imported Folders would cascade when you clicked on them. I eventually moved and deleted Favorites to get rid of the Imported Bookmarks Folder.

    Thanks for any help.

Right click my computer. C/windows, look for favorites. You can right click and rename it something like favoritesold. Then put in your CD, then just drag and drop your Favorites folder from your CD into c/windows. Close down explorer, then IE should have your original favorites. You can delete favoritesold once you check IE. Post back good or bad. The imported file sounds like you copied/imported the favorites folder into the favorites folder, so windows/IE had to rename one of them..

    Hi aleekat,
We tried your suggestion and Explorer won't let us re-name the Favorites folder.
    Thanks for the reply.

Ok, the other option is to copy just your favorites links, not the folder. Put the imported ones in a temp folder so you dont lose them. Then paste them into the c/windows/favorites folder. Post back good or bad.
