2 users, XP-Pro machine. When my husband logs on, he gets the connection screen saying "You or a program have requested information from updatekeepalive.mcafee.com" or from 216.49.88.118.

He cancels, it just comes back until he lets it connect--but does nothing. Both addresses go to McAfee's home page.

I ran Spybot, uninstalled ZoneAlarm. Autoupdate on McAfee is disabled. I went into the registry and deleted both of those addresses from the RAS Autodial keys.

I googled and found someone on TweakXP.com who is having the same problem but no resolution.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

I know I'm talking to myself, but it might be of some interest to someone else down the line.

I uninstalled McAfee Virus then went through the registry removing anything connected with it that I felt safe removing.

I have reinstalled it and things seem to be OK.
