unrecognized file format

I recently downloaded a file containing alphabetical icons from a Swedish web site. The file had an extension of sit. I did determine this was a Stuffit file (I have winzip). So I then downloaded the free Stuffit Expander offered by Aladdin software.
Eventually got the file extracted. It puts each letter into a separate folder, which is fine. However each folder has a file with the name Icon_.rsrc. I have no idea what format this is. None of my graphic converters recognize it. I am beginning to suspect that the Swedes and I have different concepts of icons.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It appears files with the extension of .rsrc are related to the Mac OS.

This site lists the file extension, and this site talks about Resource Forks on the Mac OS.

You are absolutely correct, Sir. I am so ignorant of all things Mac I never even considered that possibility. I bounced back out the Swedish website and, sure enough, in the tiniest little corner of one of the descriptions it says, For Mac, of course. Why ' of course ' ?
Also, on 10/11/2002 you helped another member to create a dos prompt here option on his Windows exporer menu. This has been very helpful to me also.
