    Hello,
I've a problem with two ethernet ports in a Win2000 professional system.
In these ethernet ports there are cross cables and two Win98 PC.
With TCP/IP protocol, if I ping the two other PC, only one give response, as Win2000 send his ping request only in one of his two ethernet cards.
On the contrary, the two PC with Win98 can ping the Win2000 machine.
Is there a solution for this ??

    Thank You
    Paolo

Interesting. And I really can't give you a solid answer with your present configuration. Something to try (but this is a pure guess and may well not work) would be to put the two NICs (and the two 98 PCs) on different networks and let the 2K PC act as their router.

Something like a 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 address for the 2K NIC and 192.168.0.2 / 192.168.1.2 for the 98 PCs while using a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

But in your situation, I think you will do lots better if you can get a switch or hub and connect a single NIC in each machine to the device while keeping their IP addresses on the same network.
