The setup of my new 60 gig hard drive with Win 98 se will
not allow Norton Speed disc to run.
I get the error message that "the disc in not configured properly ". To install the new larger hard drive they did a work around my bios with ez-bios. (so I was told)
In order to have symantec diagnose the problem they have some kind of diagnosis software.
The software downloads but cannot install. It tells me that the software can not be installed as the "long filename setting" is not enabled.
How do I enable long filenames in Windows 98 se ??
After searching the symantec database it appears that they
have identified this problem but have no solutions.
The only tip they have is to uninstall Norton utilities and reinstall. Well we'll see.
