Tubotax won't update

I know tax time is over but i still need to access my completed tax return to print it out and to figure my estimated tax for 2007.

I am using Windows XP, Firefox with a Java up-grade, I have Explorer 7.0 loaded on the computer. After loading the Java update I could not read my e-mail. It was coming up in explorer but nothing would happen when I clicked on an e-mail except some Java script would appear at the bottom of the screen. I fixed this by getting firefox to be the browser when I access my mail.

TurboTax comes up, checks for updates, tells me how many up dates are needed but then a screen comes up saying that it is connecting to the server but it never connects. I tried downloading the upgrades manually but at the end of trying to install the upgrades the connecting to the server comes up and so the install does not take place. I also got a disc with the upgrades, tried to install from the disk, same result.

TurboTax is trying to use the Explorer web browser when it up grades regardless of what browser you are using. I have tried to get help from TurboTax (see above), even waited on hold 85 min and they sent the upgrade CDs.

I mentioned the e-mail problem because I think that both problem are being caused by a mismatch between Explorer 7 and Java. How can I get them to be compatible?

I did get my tax filed on time by finishing on a friends computer

TurboTax won't upgrade

Perhaps I should have said more in the origional post about other things that I have tried but the post was getting so long I was afraid people would not read it.

I tried turning off the XP firewall and making Explorer 7 the default browser both separately and at the same time. This did not help. The program would not connect to the server. Also I was able to down-load the upgrades manually and receive e-mails from Turbo-tax.

I will research the e-mails I received from TT and post any other things that I have already tried.
