I friend of mine recently removed some maleware (he is much more computer savy that I). However, after removing the maleware I am having problems with loging into sites where I have a password. For intance, I can pull up the webpage for my bank, but I get a "page cannot be displayed" error message when I try to click through to my account (this is the same for my airline and school web accounts). I also have trouble with accessing pages where I need to download - such as Microsoft.com and downloading service pack SP2 - express install it gives me [Error number: 0x8024502D].

    Please help.

    Still having problem

Thank you. I tried the fix described, but this still didn't help - either with the logins pages coming up or with the download from microsoft.

In looking at my school website (www.capella.edu) I've noticed that I can't get into the web pages that have "Javascript:_doPostBack( "lb1',)" come up in the lower left corner of my screen (where the IE icon is) when I put my mouse over the link - not sure if this means anything or not...

That would suggest you need to have javascript running to access the site.
    1) Are you left clicking on the link to go to that second site or right clicking/Open in New Window? You have to left click to see a javascript window.
    2) IE Tools|Internet Options|Security tab|Custom Level|Scripting area. Set "Active Scripting" and "Scripting of Java Applets" to Enable.

thank you. I checked that and all of my javascripts are checked appropriately in the security setting. However, I did notice that i cannot change the security level to anything below medium from the slide tool - it will give an error message.

This is confusing since I have no problems getting to sites and being able to switch between pages - it only happens on those few where I need to log in once I'm out to a site - however it doesn't happen on this site? I just don't understand. Did we delete something in the maleware removal that allows me to access this?
