I'm trying to install prefbar and have checked for web site to allow installation. It does not work. What is the address to allow for software install? Is it: Update.mozilla.org?
If not, please tell me what to put in for the allowable website.
Also tried to download file so I could install. Couldn't do that either.
Seem to be striking out today.
There is a very annoying Macromedia Bee add that has to be squashed by stopping flash. It makes this awful bee sound and will drive you crazy.
    Thanks.
BTW, I am trying to do this install on Firefox1.0

I am a bit confused by what you are saying. This install and download confuses me. Anyway, I do my downloads from Extention room .
If you download the .xpi file or if you have it already, there is an easy way to do the job. I download to the desktop, and drag and drop the .xpi file into the the shortcut. It is more of a door knock, which alerts the program that something is needed, and the installation should begin, and complete.
I have had the Prefbar in 1.0, which I just upgraded to 1.01, and, it is, apparently compatible with it.
I find it more convenient to download the .xpi file, and save it for later use.

Thanks Westside for your comments. I went to the extension room and I do not see a place for downloading the msi file for installation. When I just clicked on the install now, it wants to install on my desktop, but when I wrote the note above I was on my laptop with firefox and I tried the install but it would not work. Where is the site for the msi download? I prefer to do it your way.

OK, I right clicked and saved the target so now I have the msi file. I have a quick start icon for Firefox in my taskbar tray. Do I simply drop the msi file on it and the install will start?

The file is .xpi, not .msi. As for how to do it, I would disable quick start, and use the desktop icon. I have never thought much of the Quick Start, or launch. In fact, I had no idea that there was one. Do you have a Desktop shortcut icon?

I have an icon on the desktop. If you want to have a quicklaunch, drag the icon to the quicklaunch area and it should be captured. That's how I got mine there. If you also want it on your desktop, you might want to create a copy before you drag one of them to the quicklaunch.
Anyway, I now have prefbar on the desktop and you say I should drag it and lay it on the desktop Firefox icon, right? Yes, it is xpi--sorry, bad eyesight or not careful looking.
