Everytime I try to download a PDF file, my system goes through the download procedure, but upon completion, a dialog box appears and keeps popping up on and off on my screen It doesn't stay on my screen long enough to cancel it and the only way I can make it stop is shut down all other applications and restart. Help!

Do you mean "downloading" as in Save the File to disk
    or
"Downloading" as in Opening it directly from the site?

It would seem to be the latter, since a download "shouldn't" care about the type of file. So, if that is true, try saving the file to disk and then opening it from there.

Thanks Whitphil. I believe I tried to open the PDF file directly from diferent web sites. I've also tried saving it to disk but get the same thing. It doesn't allow me to complete the down load. As soon as the download is complete, the dialog box keeps popping up on and off my screen and it doesn't allow me to open the file or do anything. . I never get that far. It happens every time I try to down load a PDF from any site. I need to find a way to get past the dialog box.

How are you downloading the pdf's without having them open in IE?

Try right-clicking the files and "Save Target As..." to remove the Acrobat IE plugin from the process.
