Tries but no success

    i am running an HP computer with XP. When you turn it on, it accesses the CD and HD, but then it just stops. The power supply keeps running but nothing happens. The monitor doesn't even show that it has a signal. Is my mother board taost?

    Any and all help is appreciated.
