By tracking software I guess you mean tracking cookies?

    I suggest a three pronged attack ....

Download Spybot, immediately update and run it and Immunise your system by clicking on Immunize and then again on the green Immunize + you will see on the next screen. Like AdAware SE Spybot is an on demand scanner with an immunise facility which provides a small degree of permanent protection.

Download SpywareBlaster 3.5, update it and Enable all protection - this is not a scanner but a permanent blocker of several thousand items of spyware/malware.

Download Windows Defender (the successor to Microsoft AntiSpyware) - this provides real time protection against a lot of spyware/malware and autoupdates and auto scans.

With these three applets installed you should have no problem with tracking cookies - and a lot else.

gingirlie510--Assuming you are allowing AdAware to Quarantine and then Delete the tracking cookies it finds, you must be visiting the same sites that give you the tracking cookies again.
AdAware will tell you what the site is, so you may be able to avoid it. However, tracking cookies are very often given to you by a third-party site--a site to which the site you are viewing is directing your browser, often without your knowing it.
In addition to PeteC's suggestions, you can use IE's Security settings to block cookies from such third party sites. IE Tools|Internet Options|Privacy tab|set the slider to Medium High. If you click Sites on that tab you can also enter the URL for the site into those sites whose cookies you want to block--even first party sites. (Some sites may not work if you block their cookies. You will just have to see. You can always reverse the Privacy tab settings.)
And then there is the HOSTS file.

Once you know which sites are giving you the cookies, if you want to block access to the site, you can put its URL into your HOSTS file. The difference between this and the Privacy tab is that the HOSTS file totally blocks access to the offending site, whereas the Privacy tab just blocks the deposit of a cookie from the offending site.
This site will offer to populate a HOSTS file with a large number of sites which are known for giving tracking cookies, spyware, etc.

On spybot this one keeps coming up "coolwww" something and it says in order ro fix it i have to restart then i do and it runs automatically and finds it again and says the same thing. Do you know how I can manually go in and fine where the file is and delete it???? Any other tips?

Looks like you may have a CoolWebSearch infection which Spybot is unable to deal with. Download CoolWebShredder and run it - should take care of the problem.
