i have a peer to peer network with windows xp pro and windows xp home computers (wired and wireless, five computers.) Instead of having "My Network Places" on the desktop, I prefer to have the "Network" symbol (three computers hooked together) because it allows me to quickly access a particular computer.

I just added a new windows xp home computer and can't seem to be able to find where the "view network computers" icon is hidden to be able to create a shortcut on the desktop. When I open My Network Places I can find it on the left under network tasks, but I can't, for the life of me, find where it is kept so I can create a shortcut. I know it can be done because I did it ... but I can't think how. I've tried right clicking ... dragging ... nothing. Target on the computer where I've done it just says "Microsoft Windows Network ".

    Any suggestions?

never mind ... I just chose to show hidden files and when I used the arrow up when the five computers were chosen in the "view network computers" all of a sudden the three-computer figure showed up. Funny how these little nitpicking shortcuts to constant work features can really drive me crazy.
