I have a Toshiba Satellite 5105-S607 and for some reason the CD-ROM drive doesn't read while installing an OS. For instance if I try to intall Windows XP it will boot from the CD just fine and run the initial setup. After I format or partition my hard drive and the setup reboots, the Windows XP GUI setup program gives me an I/O error. This leads to be assume the problem that I state with the drive. Anyways, I decided to setup a simple RIS with 2000 server and I set the laptop to boot with PXE. It detects the RIS just fine but I get a message that "the operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drives for your network adapter... ". I searched Microsoft's website and the laptop is under the supported computers. My question is how do I add the necessary network drivers (which I have) to the RIS?

Since the laptop is supported I'm really surprised you are having troubles unless the error is wrong. Not familiar with the specific laptop but I've seen that sort of problem when the hard drive tried to grab the wrong drivers at install time and you had to stop the XP install at the prompt for 'additional drivers' and load the correct ones or else the system would do as yours has and proceed with the install but fail to boot from the Hd.

As far as the RIS issue, it could be from the same source. Did you follow the steps Here for the PXE load?
