When I try to open an existing Works spreadsheet I get a message "Too many spreadsheets open, must close one" but I don't know which ones are open and don't know how to find out.
I can't find anything in Works Help that deals with this.

    Got any ideas?

How much RAM does your computer have? I can find several articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base referring to similar, but not the exact, problem in Works and all refer to a need for more RAM.

It's been a while since I used Works but I vaguely recall that it's quite a memory hog. If you have minimal RAM and are running other programs in the background then try to open even a medium-sized Works file, there's just not enough RAM to handle the load.

(If you don't know how much RAM you have, right click on My Computer, click on Properties and it should be listed somewhere on that first tab.)

Thanx - I have 256MB. The problem seems to have solved itself. When shutting down a big spreadsheet was on view which I had tried to see before but with no luck. Anyhow I'm back in business.
