I've got a small Windows 2000 server based network in Charlotte, NC - USA. Most of the client computer are running Windows XP. Two have Windows 2000 Professional. Since this weekend, the two 2000 computers are no longer in time sync with the Primary Domain Controller (PDC).

Results of net time tool on my XP computer:
Current time at \\PDCname is 10/30/2007 9:00 AM (the correct time)

Results of net time tool on 2000 computers:
Current time at \\PDCname.domainname is 10/30/2007 8:00 AM (wrong time)
    Local time (GMT-04:00) at \\PDCname.domainname is 10/30/2007 9:00 AM

If I run the following command at my XP computer...
net time \\usernameX (one of the 2000 computers)
    I get this...
Current time at \\usernameX is 10/30/2007 10:00 AM
Local time at (GMT-05:00) at \\usernameX is 10/30/2007 9:00 AM

    Here are my questions...

    1) How can I get the 2000 computers synchronized with our Primary Domain Controller?

    2) Also, I'm confused. In my Windows XP time settings under Time Zone, I've got (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) selected but a search at the GMT website for my area says I'm in GMT-04:00. Which is right?

    3) As indicated in the bold area above, why is there a difference in the GMT zone when I reference the same computer. The first time, I was at the local machine and the second time I was on my own PC and used \\usernameX

I've tried the following command on the offending computers...
    net time /domain.domainname /set
But it didn't make a difference.

Anyone care to take a stab at this?

    Thanks,
    Paul
