Not sure if this should be in hard ware or not.
I have a 16gb sandisk sd micro and a usb adaptor. I installed Thunderbird portable on it, transfered my profile folder from my other Thunderbird installation to it and it worked perfectly. It had all my past mail, and downloaded new mail. The next time I tried to use it, my laptop reported the disk needed to formated before it could be used. Properties shows it as 0 bytes and full. I tried a few more time with the same result, then tried to format it. Windows was unable to format it.

    What can I do now?

Get a thumb drive and run portable apps on it. Use the micro SD card for cameras and phones.

I have my portables on a thumb drive, and they work like a charm.
