Thumbnails have been disabled

Ok, I was uninstalling some programs, mostly games, from years ago to gain space, and for some reason all my pictures (jpg, gif, etc) became unassociated, even though I didnt touch the program they were originally associated with.

Anyway, I re-associated them...... but although they work now, thumbnails dont appear on the leftside of a folder window when I highglight an image anymroe.

I havent checked every file type, but the ones I noticed that were removed are .jpg, .bmp, .gif, and .png

Strangely, .jpeg WASNT touched, and .jpeg files still show a thumbnail when I hughtlight them.

My os is Windows 98SE

Also.......... I want to FIX this problem, not just erridicate it by reformatting.
