Windows Vista the dreaded vista beep

    hello,
    i read this thread and stopped the driver several times. the beep KEPT COMING BACK each time there was a registry change (eg., antivirus installation, etc.).

    so finally i went in and uninstalled it. now i still have the beep... and no way to disable it. please help me! i guess i need to reinstall the accursed thing in order to stop it again?

    Maybe mute it? Open the volume control applet and mute the PC Speaker. If it's not there, in the volume control click options>properties and put a check in the box next to PC Speaker. Click OK. I really don't know if this will do it or not but it can't hurt to try it.
