Im looking to buy a 17" TFT Monitor for as CHEAP as possible. (Hey I'm a student, what do you expect? ;) )

Can anyone recommend any CHEAP sites to buy from?

Now I dont really know much about Monitors and the likes and this may be a stupid question, but is it as simple as plugging in the monitor to the back of the tower and the mains and your sorted? Or do you have to configure drivers and so on?

    Thanx.

    Geordie. :)

Edit: Forgot to add. UK preferably. Cheers. :D

    Hi Geordie

Try www.dabs.com or www.watford.co.uk for their 'own' brands of TFT monitors. Both in UK.

The monitor should come with a driver disk if one is needed, so it's connect the monitor to the tower, add mains and boot. Windows should detect the monitor and will no doubt ask for the driver. Just follow the on-screen instructions for loading the driver.

With 1280 x 1024 resolution on a 17" everything is a bit small - even on a TFT where 17" means 17" - check it out before parting with your dosh. Sure you have great eyesight - unlike me - shortsighted and a bit!!

I saw 17" flat tube CRTs at Wal-Mart for 128 bucks.
I think the brand was KDS
