Not quite sure where to begin here. 2 new servers that were added to our network here have static IP addresses, DNS entries, can be viewed in the network neighborhood and can be connected to via the Term Services \\servername\c$ command. You can print from them, internet works, etc... functioning just like any other server on our network.

However, when I try accessing these servers through RDP either from home or from within our office I can't do it. Server name nor IP address is recognized athrough RDP and the session times out, and when I try to browse for the server...one of them is listed in the tree but the other one isn't.

Error message on one server X, (the one that can be viewed when browsing the network in the RDP) says : The remote session was disconnected because there are no Terminal Sever License Servers available to provide a license

This seems wierd because I have TS up and running on the server, and am able to use TS Manager on it to connect to our other servers.

Error message on the second server Y (the one that we cant see in the RDP browsing tree)states that " Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept connections. It is also possible that network problems are preventing this connection.

Same as with server X, I have TS Manager up and running on this server and am able to conenct to other servers on our network.

I don't understand why remotely we are unable to connect to either of these servers, why one of them shows up in the RDP server browsing tree under our domain name and why the other one does not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me like Server X has both sessions in use. You may need to go into TS Manager and disconnect any session that aren't being used. Out of the box Windows Servers are only allowed to have two remote sessions open at a time.

As for Server Y, I don't think RDP is enabled. You need to right-click My Computer, Properties, select the Remote tab, then enable Remote Desktop. Also make sure you add the users accounts that need to be able to RDP to this server.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help Eric. I got server Y up and running. Just like you mentioned, I just needed to enable RDP.

I tried restarting server X(the one that shows up in the RDP browse window)
but am still unable to connect to it via RDP. I went into Terminal Services Manager and it doesn't show any active connections to it.

    thanks

    Darren
