hi,
when i conect to internet the tool bar and address bar don't appear. also the icons on the task bar (by start) don't appear.
they used to, but suddenly they don't.
can anyone help me, bearing in mind that i am an internet beginner.

Bring up IE. Rt click a blank area in the gray on the right end. If toolbar is locked then click to unlock. Put a check in Standard buttons and Address bar.

Then go to the bottom edge of between this and the IE browse screen and get the dbl arrow then hold down left mouse and pull down. If it don't move then it is all the way down.

After it is set lock it!

To hide the Start rt click a blank space about the middle of the start menu bar select properties then auto hide.

If Mike's suggestion doesn't do it try the f11 key on your keyboard.

thank you. i carried out your instructions in para 1 and 2, now i'm stuck on 'lock it'. can't locate as per your last para.
i will try again tomorrow.

Do you mean it worked?!

If so reread the instructions about checking unlock, go back there and check lock.
