Resolved System Running Slow

    Running Windows 10 (NOT latest version yet), 64-bit; Intel Core i7 CPU 860@2.80MHz; 8 GB RAM; 2 TB WD 7200 rpm disk drive.

    Am experiencing very frustrating slowness in launching programs, opening files, doing the iNet (Chrome and Edge). Will restart every 2-3 days and runs better for a day or so, then back to the slowness. I'm not sure if the problem is the hard drive, the RAM (Doubtful) or the CPU (maybe 8 years old or so). I run cCleaner and System Mechanic for optimization, but neither seem to fix the issues permanently.

    Any thoughts and/or suggestions on how to handle this or what changes might be made to improve will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Purple Haze.

    I would follow the instructions in my guide for optimizing Windows 10.

    If the computer is still not performing up to speed after following my guide, then I would highly recommend upgrading your computer to a Solid State Drive. I would buy this one, Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD.

    The YouTube stuttering issue? No. Have done everything suggested so far and still experience lag. Just enough to be frustrating when trying to record.

    Evan, Thanks for the information. I have completed about 70% of the optimizations you recommend. My system is running much better now. I plan to complete the rest later this month. Thanks again!!
