May I know the system requirements for SEP? I mean the true(real) recommended system requirement not the minimum and recommended system requirement posted by symantec because even with symantec system recommended requirement I noticed that the endpoint slowsdown the PC a lot..

Hi Batotoy, You've posted a curly one. I used NAV & NIS on 4 of my home computers and found ultimately that the comps get slower and slower and on my #1 PC (AMD 2600, 1.5 Gb RAM, 80Gig HDD) it took between 4.5 - 5 mins to get operational. I decided enough was enough and deleted Symantec from my PC's and use AVG 7.5 free version and the computers fly by comparison (1min 50sec) on my #1. Your choice but I don't think it matters how far you exceed the minimum requirements, Symantec will slow them down. It's also a big job to totally clear Symantec from your PC. Lol Neil.;)

My old BOAC (1 GHz Athlon and 512 MB PC133) starts in 90 seconds, including NIS. NIS does slow things down a bit but I think you have or had other issues.

Hi Christer, yes I did have problems. I had NAV 2004 & NAV 2006 & when I wanted to install NIS 2007 it wouldn't finalise. It took a Symantec Techo (with remote control over my Computer) 3and 1/2 hours to purge the NAV's out to enable NIS 2007 to install. Then during the next 12 months it slowed my comp down so much that I did the big removal with help from Mike Flynn and Superdude. I am now perfectly happy with AVG and my comp starts fully operational within 1 min 50 secs. FYI. Neil.:D
