    I have a used laptop that I just got. when I turn it on, it display a download school logo that I would like to get rid of. After about 30 seconds of looking at it, my selected desktop appears and everything is ok from there. I just want to get rid of that logo that first shows up when I start my new/used system. Thanks for any input.

    Welcome to the boards!
    Go into Windows Explorer, right click on C:\Msdos.Sys, and uncheck Read Only. Now double click Msdos.sys and you will get asked what program to open it with, select Notepad.
    Add this line:
    Logo=0
    That is a zero, Save.
    If you cannot find C:\Msdos.Sys, go into Folder Options and set Windows Explorer to Show All Files, it is a Hidden and System file.
