I've got some file running in Windows/System called asac.exe. I have removed it using Spybot, but Spybot won't eliminate it. I've tried going into the actual file and deleting it, but it returns as well. Whatever this file is is causing my computer to run incredibly slow. Any advice on how to eliminate it once and for all?

    After online scans!!!....
What can you find out about the file by a right click properties check?

Can you end the process on the file and rename it? (Possibly in safemode if not during normal bootup).

Do a file find and use the general search word of asac (don't put the .exe on it). See what comes up and check to see if any of these may offer clues to what asac.exe is.

I could find very little info on this file and none of it was productive. I did however find reference to a game patch and this appi (written specifically for this game or possibly games this board supports). This is definitely a long shot and most likely won't apply to your case but ya' never know:

Can't find out to much about it though as this site requires registered membership just to search the forum files. Does this ring any bells?

This is a handy dandy tool for finding out tons of information about processes running in real time:

    troj dyfuca.m

It would now appear that my problem is the troj dyfuca.m virus. Nothing I've tried has been able to remove it. Sage advice please?

troj dyfuca.m runs from the file nem219.dll so you will need to delete that file.

    Boot to Safe mode.

Open the Run window and type regsvr32 /u nem219.dll (enter)

You should get confirmation that the dll has been unregistered.

Do a search for nem219.dll and delete any copies found. There should only be one and likely it's in the system32 folder.

Reboot normally and see if you are free of this bug.

Rerun the on-line scans and note anything found wrong.

If you are still infected, we should move this post to the Security forum where it will get better service.
