Does anyone have any successful experience in removing "Spyware Protect 2009" ?
    What a horror story
It would not even a full boot into safe mode - icons would not even fill the screen
Any ideas of how to remove or simply redo the hard drive or restore ?
A similar product with a similar appearance and interface is Pro Anti Spyware 2009

    Hi visionof,

Are you able to run anything via the task manager in safe mode? Can you download a file and tranfer to the machine and run it?

Oh, most importantly, what operating system?

    Windows XP as the OS

system admin - thanks for moving the question
I was not exactly sure what forum area to post exactly
The OS was Windows XP home
In the end i did a system recovery on a Compaq HP computer
I expected an overwrite - it was a combination of the new programs and the original setup ex factory
I was curious the experience of other expert computer techs to solve this piece of spyware / evilware
What amazed me was its persistence. If the service was shut down via the windows task manager it would pop up again shortly running itself two or even three separate programs ( at least in the task bar)
The amazing part to me was that the system would stop part way even in safe mode - not allowing the windows icons nor drives to be shown just the safe mode / os version blank screen

Most malware have registry startup entries. In cases where the comp won't boot at all, even in safe mode, I use a linux live cd w/ a registry editor to delete the malware startup values. Here's a handy live cd:
