spellcheck

I recently upgraded from 98 to XP home and am useing earthlink.net for isp. As you know they supply a mailer program. After my upgrade, spellcheck does not work in the earthlink mailer. Cannot find any options to set for said spellcheck and need help. The spellcheck checks each word verbatum, right or wrong, but does not check the spelling.ie if I type dosen it will appear right below as dosen, not the correction. Spellcheck works in m/s word though. Their support cant seem to solve the problem, maybe one of you guys can help.
