   Like Outlook I couldn't find a similar spell-checker in Tools - Options setup in Outlook express... is this possible at all?

   Google "Spell Checker" and choose from a bunch of them.

   O.Express->Tools->Options->SPELLING
   
   Course you MUST have MS Office for both Outlook and O.Express to have a spell checker.
