    Hi all.

Was wondering if there is or will be a SP3 coming out for XP??
There seems to be a lot of security updates and hotfixes on the PC's that i have seen recently.

I was just reading about the Security patch for Vista that they were putting in place, and they revealed that the SP3 for XP is expected to be the second half of 07.

Yes, according to Microsoft's Windows Service Pack Road Map.

I think we shouldn't be all that surprised if we get a new announcement sometime early 2007: Microsoft Cancels Windows XP Service Pack 3, announces Update Rollup instead. They did the same with Service Pack 5 for Windows 2000.

Can you tell me what an update roll up means? How is it different from a SP?

From (as an example) Update Rollup 1 for Windows XP is available
It differs from a Service Pack in that no new features are included - you may recall that SP2 included a host of new features, so much so that it was virtually a new OS :)
