My daughter somehow deleted the outlook express and internet explorer from the bottom of my screen. I'm not sure if they have to be there. Do you understand where I mean? next to the start button. there was also something else there but i'm not sure what it was. I think that it was something to do with active desktop. I hope that this makes sense to someone. Thankyou

Right click a blank area of your "Start" taskbar and from the popup scroll up to "Toolbars" and click on the "Quicklaunch" option. Does the toolbar reappear?

If the Quik Launch Toolbar (area next to start button) is still there the all she did was delete shortcuts to those programs. If you have IE & OE shortcuts on desktop you can rt click and drag to the toolbar and choose "copy here" from the context menu that pops up when you release the mouse button.
