SOLO 2100 Touchpad

    I have a gateway solo 2100 laptop running Win2000, 4 gig, 72 mb. The built in touchpad has stopped working. I have it enabled in BIOS and windows doesnt recognize it. I have tried re-installing Windows 98 & 2000, but that was to no avail. I hope its not dead cause i know i can still get alot of use out of this. Any help/insight will be awesome.thanks

    Well i decided to re-do the whole laptop. I reistalled Win98 and the touchpad didnt work, i removed the keyboard and i saw that the wire for the touchpad was not connected...problem solved
