Every time I log on to Windows XP this message comes up: "Snapshot Scheduler Wizard has encountered a problem and needs to close. Please tell Microsoft, etc." How can I get rid of that message?

Are you sure the exact message contains "Snapshot Scheduler Wizard "?

I know the Windows Installer mentions taking snapshots and there is a Task Scheduler Wizard but this one is new to me.

Take a look in your event logs and see if there is an error there with more detail.

Otherwise, post the exact, complete error message you are getting.

    Snapshot

Thanks for your reply. Complete message: "Snapshot Scheduler Wizard has encountered a problem & needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, theinformation you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsofft about this problem. [I did, twice, to no effect] We have created a report that you can send to us. We will treat the report as confidential and anonymous. To see what data this report contains, click here." Report: "Error signatures: AppName: schweizex.exe AppVer: 4.0.1.8.0 ModNaame: reggmmt.dll ModVer: 2.99.17.0 Offset: 00019183
The Scheduled Tasks screen lists Snapshot as disabled, and as never having run.
I can live without that, but would like to get rid of the nuisance message every time I turn on the computer.

schweizex.exe ?? Did you mean schweizer.exe? If so, that is part of Flight Simulator 2000 if you have the Schweizer 2-32 aircraft loaded.

First step I'd try is removing the whole entry from the scheduled tasks list.

If that didn't stop the error, next try would be to search the registry for any occurance of the .exe file name. Depending on what/where it is, you might want to remove some keys.

And MindVision has a snapshot wizard for taking a "snapshot" of your computer at a given moment in time as an aid in setting up a custom installer.

    Snapshot Scheduler

I removed the Snapshot Scheduler from Scheduled Tasks, and that did get rid of the annoying message. Thanks for your advice.
