Suiddenly from this morning, my emailk server seems to have been hijacked by this programme. I can log on as normal but my mail doesnt show up jusr a number of ads and as the mail should be loading, the dialog shows that it is pulling infromation from www.smartadserver.com.
Nothing shows on Spybot, Adaware ar AVG.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of this thinh which is blocking access to my email?
    TIA

Assuming this is web based email, such as Hotmail, Yahoo or ISP provided?? Try opening internet options in the control panel, with all browser windows closed, and delete the temporary internet files, including offline content. Then clear cookies. Open My Computer and right click Local disk C:, then choose disk cleanup. Select all boxes and click OK. Check the email again. If you're still having problems, download HijackThis.exe from here. Save it to a permanent folder (I create a new folder in C:\ named HJT). Open and click scan, then save log. Once it is saved it will open in notepad. Select all from the edit button, copy and paste the results here. Don't fix anything with it yet!

Hi Noahdfear, thanks for your suggestions however, today everything seems up and working without problems, it looks like my email server (www.free.fr) was under attack not me. What a releif but thanks again, I'll keep a copy of you note in case it recurs.
