Just in the last week or so, occasionally when I click on an item it opens a very small window, instead of the usual size. What happened here and how do I change it.
I have IE version 6 with Windows XP.

For reasons known only to Microsoft programmers, IE remembers the size and position of the last secondary window closed if: It was the last IE window closed and the maximize button wasn't used to enlarge it. Confused yet? ;)

At any rate, here's what to do:
    1. Open IE, go to a page with links
    2. Open a link in a new window
    3. Resize that second window by hovering the cursor over an edge and/or corner until it turns into a double-headed arrow, then holding down the left mouse button and dragging it to the size you want
    4. Close the original window - important step, this won't work without it
    5. Close the window you resized

All future IE secondary windows will open to the size and position of the window you closed in step 5.
