When I open MY Documents, I have no address bar. So I go to veiw then to toolbars and finally put a check mark next to Adrress Bar.

No problem until I reboot the computer. The address bar is gone and I have to do the same thing over again.

    Am I missing something simple?

After you have the Documents folder set up the way you want it, go to Tools>Folder Options>View tab and make sure "Remember each folder's view settings" is checked.

Or, if you prefer to have the way you have arranged the Documents folder be the arrangement for all folders, click the "Apply to All Folders" button. Click OK.

See if that sorts it out.

We will see what happens. It was checked so I unchecked it, then clicked apply and then checked it and then clicked apply.

So we will see what happens tomorrow when I start it back up.

Do you have other toolbars installed? After making sure that the Address Bar is checked did you also check Lock the toolbars?

The only other thing that is checked is the standard toolbar.

This is the computer at work. So we have others on it and they have no clue. So there is no telling whats been done to it. (I wound NEVER let any one of them near, within 1000 ft, of my computer at home)

And I do check the Lock The Tollbars after I check the Address bar.

So any ideas? Not a big problem just an annoying problem.

Ranger SVO:It's a longshot, but here's an idea. I've had a similar problem for months, but it's the opposite -- one folder with a toolbar I don't want. I've gone through all the different tests and trials, and that toolbar (Standard Buttons) always returns when I open that folder. After appealing to this BBS, I drilled down into the Registry and discovered that somehow I'd lost my Administrator Privileges. They're needed to make the Registry change I need and you may need, too. My desktop is in my home and I'm the only user, while yours is at your workplace. That may make a significant difference, but then maybe not.

My problem is a very minor one for me as yours is for you, but mine also is what I believe makes it impossible for me to upgrade my IE 6 to IE 7. The download and install go almost all the way through and at the last moment fail. When that first happened months ago, I checked and I seem to remember the Administrator Privileges issue was the key.

Anyone's opinion of any of the above is certainly welcome.

It is a minor problem and if its never corrcted its no problem. Once I put the address bar there, it stays until I reboot the computer.

Its just annoying that I have to put it there every morning, but then I've been doing it for years.
