Can anyone help with this problem:- I am getting the following message each time I try to shut down my computer, the screen goes black then the following comes up:- "A fatal exception OE has occured at 0028.CO297948 in VXD VWIN32(05) + 000012DO. The current application will be terminated "
    Press any key to continue.
I do this and the screen goes black again & I have to manually turn off my computer.
I am not on the Internet when this happens.
    Please help me!!

More detailed information about your computer wolud be helpful, since fatal exception errors are hard to track down.

You might find help in this InfiniSource article or from the Microsoft knowledge base on Troubleshooting Fatal Exception Errors or the related threads links at the bottom of this page.

If you're using win98 try disabling fast shutdown. Click start>run and type msconfig. Click on the advanced tab and put a checkmark next to the line that says disable fast shutdown. CLick ok to close msconfig and reboot the computer. You may get the same error on this first reboot because you have to reboot for the changes to take effect. The next reboot or shutdown is the one that will tell whether it helped or not.
