It has been taking my computer about 30-60 seconds to shut down the past couple of days. I searched this board for solutions and none of them seemed to work. Any other ideas?

    Steve 30 seconds is OK!

A minute or 2 not so good.

    But do this.

You should run Disk Cleanup, scan and defrag.

I know you have been on the BBS long enough to have your virus and spy/adware cleaners up to date and have run them. If not update and do them all.

Do you know absolutly what is running in startup?

Has the startup when turned on slowed down also?

    Do these and get back.

After reading around i started to edit what services were starting and i must have turned off the one that was causing the slow shutdown/restart. It now only take 10-15 seconds to exit widows which is a far cry from the 2min30sec i clocked it at 2 weeks ago. The only problem i have encountered is that i must have shut off a service for AutoComplete in IE b/c now it isnt working correctly.

    b/c ????

Nothing in service turns of auto complete that I know of. That is a application program config.
