Id like to create a shortcut for changing my gamma on my screen. I change it for a game i play (its the only one that needs changing). I go to properties from desktop, then settings, then advanced, then twin view, then device settings and change the gamma. there is a place to save it there but its only for that page. is this file saved on the hd and if so can i access it directly?

    thanx.

Maybe DarkAdapted, which is freeware, might do what you want (it's the 7th or 8th one down on that page). If not, try a Google search for "shortcut to gamma settings." I got around 3,500 hits.

Had a look at DarkAdapted but you'd still need a dialog approach as opposed to a 'single click' operation.

Only the one reply so far so I thought I'd look at it out of academic interest.

I changed my gamma settings and noted the alterations to the registry, exported the relevant key and then reset the gamma settings. On merging the key and refreshing nothing happened. On going through the dialog approach the gamma settings were changed to the merged values as soon as I opened the appropriate tab. So, it would seem that in addition to applying a reg script I'd need to 'talk' directly with my video card. If this is the case then a generic solution may not exist.

You could, of course, have a shortcut to a batch file which merged a reg script and then 'fired up' the settings dialog automatically but that would be a bit of a sledgehammer approach.

I will stand corrected without a murmur if anyone does provide a straight forward solution.

ya i couldnt find anything either, but that site did yield a bonus. it solved my other question on this board (sort of) of my kp enter key acting as a windows key (like clicking on the start tab on desktop). Now i can play my games again online (yea!!).
