My screen has the jitters, it is continually shaking and jittery. I have tried all the usual ajustments to vertical horizontal alignment type buttons to no avail. Any ideas?

    Refresh rate? Video going bad?

Anyway, moving this to hardware since that's my best guess and some of the hardware gurus don't look in here very often.

The part to fix this problem costs no more than $3 but by the time the tech gets it localized and replaced, you'll owe more than a new monitor would cost. That the sad fact of life in the "throw away" concept that has emerged.

The likely culprit is a capacitor or an IC in the horizontal sync circuit, just in case you're up to doing your own discreet component service.

There is one other possibility. If you are running a flat panel monitor, some of them have an "Image Lock" control that allows for adjusting the noise tolerence of the horizontal sync circuitry.

    Good luck. :)

How about something as simple as what shares the outlet. I used to have a fan plugged into the same wall socket as the computer. While the fan ran, monitor had the shakes, fan off monitor was fine. I have since moved the fan.

    Worth mentioning anyway.

    Yeah,

its the same kind of theory as never putting magnets next to monitors also... they make pretty purple colours :D but the screen goes berserk and you'll shorten the life of your monitor.

Try moving things away from your monitor such as fans, speakers.... basically anything that could be creating electromagnetic interference.

    Hope that helps!

Many lamps also do the same thing to monitors as fans do, if you have a lamp turned on that is near your monitor, try turning it off, please tell me if this helps. :)
