Settings for Spyware Terminator

    I just installed Spyware Terminator and during the initial setup I set the real time protection mode to: Beginner User Mode.
    Is there any advantage to setting it to Advanced or Expert?
    Can it be changed now that the program is installed?

    I am also running AVG anti virus, any advantage to running ClamAV that works in conjunction with Spyware Terminator?

    Hi, Frankd1. Welcome to Windows BBS! :)

    Spyware Terminator is/was listed as a rogue/suspect product according to Spyware Warrior.

    Spyware Warrior's details about Spyware Terminator seem to indicate Spyware Warrior "decided to de-list Spyware Terminator from the Rogue/Suspect list ". However, the application is still in the Rogue/Suspect list. (Therefore, I am confused.)

    Since Spyware Terminator's status is not clear to me, I suggest you uninstall Spyware Terminator and install/use a reputable anti-spyware product.

    Thanks for the info! I wasn't aware of that I read a number of positive reviews on Spyware Terminator (whatever those are worth) and thought it was ok.
    I will look into something like avg anti-spyware (free) as I am already running their free anti-virus software

    I also have read on spyware warrior that Spyware Terminator was a rogue program but I installled it on my dad's Windows XP Professional computer anyway. I have had it for about 1 year and I haven't had any problems with it what so ever. There may other programs that are more reliable like AVG for example but Spyware Terminator has gotten this computer out of a few tight situations. I like it alot because its an antispyware application, an antivirus application and it has real time shield protection. The best part about this program was that it was free. Spyware Terminator did have a shady past when it was affiliated with IBIS but the company has stopped it relations with IBIS and since then I think its become a very reliable company. :cool: So in my opinion I really like the program and I like how it performs on the computer. :)
