Windows server 2008 with XP Clients and IE8 as browser.

Got a problem with students hitting random searches in Google images and pulling up a selection including some, ahem! inappropriate images.

Therefore I want to set Google Safesearch at a high level as a default through Group Policy but I can't see exactly where - obviously in the Student OU but where exactly and what phrase to use.

AFAIK that's not something you can set in Windows using a GPO.

You'll have to use Web filtering software (such as Web sense) or a Firewall such as ISA server.

Thanks Arie, If it's OK could I leave this thread open for a while longer just in case someone else has something to offer on it?

From another Forum I had the following response:

I take it you have an OU for your pupil users. And thus a (any) GPO that applies to only pupils. If not make a new one.

So in active directory in my domain I have a OU called Pupils in there I have a GPO called student desktop. It sets the desktop redirection etc. I've added an additional setting User Config>Polices>Internet Explorer Maintenance>URLs/Important URLs>Home page URL =http://www.google.co.uk/webhp?safe=vss
    This seems to have worked.
