I'm very new to computers so I'm hoping somebody can help me understand.
when I go to start and type msconfig in the run box a lot of my services show up as stopped, such as ati card universal plug n play,cd burner etc...I did not change any settings just to be safe I checked by going to control panel and then services and now it shows up no status of the items I listed and it does not say started like the other services and it also does not say stopped.?are theese the hidden ones I researched something about not worrying if they don't show up and that if you bought your computer from a manufacturer, pre installed they don't install or list some services am I getting this right or am I mixed up.? Are theese just default setting I'm worried about.

    Hello newbie,

Type Services.msc into the run box, that will give you the full page/info on the services.

For further info on an individual service, double click on a line and a properties dialog box will appear giving you further info on it's status and what the service is dependent on it, if any, and what others are dependent on it, if any.

    Regards - Charles
