I have downloaded SP3 for W2K and have attempted to install it. I am getting an error message "W2Ksp3.exe is not a valid Win32 application ".

I downloaded SP3 to a disk on another machine, as the machine I am trying to upgrade does not have an internet/network connection.

My machine is a PIII, 650mhz. The HDD is formatted NTFS.

Can the service pack be installed this way?

When you say you put it on a disk on another machine and that your target machine doesn't have a network connection, I'm confused how you are trying to install it.

But if, for instance, you burned it to a CD and then tried to load it from that CD, it should work fine. In that case I'd suspect you got a bad download. Or had a bad burn. Or similar.
