    Hi

a floppy connected to the onboard controller on a M6TWG motherboard; although the floppy drive seems to work fine, when Windows tries to access the empty drive (like when installing drivers and it checks the floppy first; or if clicking on A: by mistake!) - instead of the expected "chuggachuggachuggachuggachugga" (?5 times) there's a pause between "chugga "s, quite a long pause, ~3 seconds or so

this motherboard may have problems - and I've just used my last spare floppy drive in another computer, otherwise I'd do the obvious and swap drive

when there's a floppy in the drive it works fine; so I'm wondering whether this indicates something I should be looking for on the motherboard / BIOS settings maybe

has anyone come across anything similar, pls?

    TIA & best wishes, HJ

finally found another floppy drive to swap with => problem was down to the floppy drive. Odd though - it worked fine when there was a disk in the drive. Will take it apart and see what gives...

    best wishes, HJ
