File/Send/Link by E-Mail has always worked fine for me. Now when I click on it, the OE window does not open. The Mail button on the toolbar also does not work.

In the internet options "Programs" tab OE is the default email program and in the OE options/general tab this is the default mail handler.

    Win 98se, OE/IE 6.0 w/all updates done.

Open RegEdit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\Outlook Express. There should (but in your case probably won't be!) an entry in the right pane called DLLPath. If it's not there, click Edit - New - String Value. Type "DllPath ", hit return and then double-click on the newly created (DLLPath) value. In the Value Data box, type "C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSOE.DLL" (assuming that that is the location of MSOE.DLL on your system) and hit OK. Reboot. Click Start - Run and type "C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg" (again, assuming that that is the correct path). Reboot. Under Tools - Internet Options - Programs, check that OE is shown is the default client.

You were right the DLLPath entry was not there. I put it in.

    I ran the "C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg" again.

IE options/programs lists OE is the mail handler.

    No Joy....

Added info: I changed my address book, message store, and registry keys to another partition. That's probably when the send link stopped working?

Would uninstall/reinstall OE do the trick?

    Thanks for your help:)

Brett...I went back to a ghost file I had for August 14th. It was before I loaded the latest security update.

    Send link now works fine.

    Thanks for your help.
