I upgraded to SP2, now in every time I start my computer I am getting a Security Alert because I did not opt to have windows firewall since I have another firewall installed, I open the Security Centre Window, click on Firewall's reccomandations and tick the " I have a firewall solution that I'll monitor myself Note: Windows will not monitor your firewall status and won't send you alerts if its off ". I also choose the Change the way Security Centre alerts me in hte main window and untick Alert me if my computer is at risk because of my firewall settings but I am still getting the warning on every bootup. Is there something that I am missing? pls help

I simply turned Windows firewall off - no prompts on SP 2 RC 2 or SP 2.

Digging deeper on a couple of my PC's I find that 'I have a firewall solution that I'll monitor myself .....' is unticked.

The Alert Settings under 'Change the way Security Center alerts me' are all ticked - default settings.

Neither PC gives an alert on start up, but the Security Centre Icon is present in the Notification Area overlaid with a white cross on a red background.

    Try these settings.

Running Pro - don't know if Home is different in this respect, but I would not expect it to be.

Those were the setting when the alerts where poping on startup, then I changed them as said in my first post with the hope that the Security Centre will not monitor my firewall, but with no sucess, anyway thanks for your prompt reply, I am sure that I can live with this popup :D
