I have been looking for some way to delete the entered text for search fields in internet explorer. I have tried deleting cookies, temp files, and the history, but have not been able to find where the queries are stored. Thank you for any help.

You can delete an individual entry by using the down arrow key to highlight it, then pressing the delete button.

You can turn off the auto-complete feature (which I think dumps all the stored entries but at least stops displaying them) in Internet Explorer 6 in Tools>Internet Options>Content>Auto Complete. Uncheck the appropriate items there.

Thank you for the reply, it helped. I was thinking that there was a temporary file which stored info entered into all search fields.

I don't remember where the previous search information is stored on the hard-drive, but if you want to delete your previous searches made from within IE, open IE, open the Search Pane, click on New, then select Previous Searches. A window will open showing you all of your previous search criteria. Click on Clear to remove all of these from memory.

If you're looking to clear search information from web-sites open Internet Explorer Properties, click on the Content Tab, click on Auto Complete, Click on Clear Forms, and Clear Passwords.
