scanning into word 2000

I have windows xp with word 2000 and hp psc 750xi. printer
When i try to print or fax from scanned black and white text I get message "the margins of section 1 are set outside the printable area of the page. Do you want to continue" I have worked with the format window but can not change anything. Also can anyone suggest the proper settings in printer color to get the entire page in legible words when scanned. I have contacted hp re these problems, they say I need help with word.
Can anyone out there help me?
