Can someone please tell me why as having admin rights
with my Windows 2000 professional I cannot get my folder views to stay how I want them. The detail view continually goes back to Large ICONS, and I want to use Classic Views for folders and it keeps going back to web content for the folders and show hidden files and folders keeps turning off as while as a problem with the "hide file extensions for known file types" setting...no co-opreation with this windows stuff..what do I gotta do call Bill Gates direct??? Thanks for your time!!!

Open windows explorer. Set the view to Details. Then go to Tools | Folder Options and set your preferences under the General tab and under the View tab. After its set the way you want it, click Apply. After you click Apply click the View tab and click the button labeled "Like Current Folder ". Then click OK.

After that you will be set.
